FAQs

+What are your fees?

Osteopathic treatments are $150 (HST included) per session payable by e-transfer, cash or cheque, by the end of each appointment. E-transfers are the preferred method of payment. However if that is not possible then cash or cheques are accepted. If you plan to pay by cheque, if possible, please prepare it before you come to your appointment (payable to Broad View Health Osteopathy).

+Will my Health Benefits insurance reimburse me?

Yes, most Ontario insurance companies recognize the billing number issued at Broad View Health Osteopathy. If you are unsure, please check with your company.

+How do I get reimbursed by my Health Benefits insurance?

At each session you will get a receipt to submit to your insurance company.

+Is Osteopathy just about bones?

The name sounds like it, but Osteopathy treats the whole body – soft tissues, bones, joints, organs, fluids, and body systems.

+Are Osteopathic practitioners medical doctors?

American trained Osteopaths are called Osteopathic Physicians and are able to prescribe medications and/or perform surgeries. In Canada and elsewhere, Osteopathic Manual Practitioners do not prescribe medications or surgeries. They are not physicians, however they are skilled health care professionals.

In addition to being an Osteopathic Manual Practitioner, Anita Young is also a Registered Nurse (BScN, RN).

+How safe is Osteopathic treatment at Broad View Health Osteopathy?

The Osteopathic techniques used are gentle and effective. Osteopathic treatment involves precise positioning that eliminates the need for aggressive or forced adjustments.

+What are your hours?

  • Mondays and Thursdays 9am to 5:15pm
  • Tuesdays and Wednesdays 9:45am to 6:15pm

+How accessible is your clinic?

From the sidewalk, there is 1 step up to the front of the semi-detached house. To arrive at the clinic entrance (back of building), go down a narrow walkway between the houses. It is like walking down the aisle of an airplane—you wouldn’t want to touch anything on the sides. Once in the backyard, there are 7 steps down to the entrance (total distance from sidewalk is about 80 feet).

Alternatively, the clinic can be accessed through the back lane (O’Riordan Lane) to avoid the narrow walkway.

+How can I convince my mother (partner, friend…) to come see you?
